Business Tax Organizer


This organizer was designed to assist you in collecting the information we need for the preparation of your income tax return. Please contact us if one of the items in the list applies to you and you are unsure as to what information we need. It is not meant to be a complete list of taxable and deductible items so make sure we know if there is anything else that you have that you are in question on.

  1. General Ledger
  2. Trial Balance
  3. Depreciation Schedule
  4. Balance Sheet
  5. Income Statement
  6. Attach copies of notices from tax authorities regarding changes to prior year returns.
  7. Provide details of changes in stock ownership.
  8. For each corporate officer provide SS#, compensation, percentage of ownership and time devoted to business.
  9. Provide a schedule of loans to/from shareholders, officers, and related parties including interest rates and payment schedules.
  10. Provide a detailed analysis of entries in prepaid, accrued, and income tax expense accounts, including dates and amounts of all federal, state, and local income tax payments and refunds.
  11. Provide copies of forms 1099, 940, 941, 5500, and W-2s that have been filed.
  12. Provide a schedule of all interest and dividend income.
  13. Provide a schedule of assets acquired and/or sold during the year including date acquired, date sold, sales or purchase price, including any trade-in allowance.
  14. Provide a schedule of contributions.
  15. List non-deductible expenses, such as penalties and life insurance premiums.
  16. Provide a schedule of any club dues paid.
  17. Provide vehicle and mileage data for company owned passenger vehicles.
  18. Furnish total of meal and entertainment expenses.
  19. Provide a list of activities conducted in other states.
